This week we start a new series at The MIX and REMIX. I am wondering what a tower in ancient times built to reach the heavens and a cell phone have in common? A lot more than you think. The people responsible for the tower of Babel, the uh Babel-ers we'll call them, took the technology, the tools of their day and used them in a way that elevated themselves and took God out of the picture. And the reality is that you and I have tools in our hands, the technology of our day, that we take and use in similar ways. The technology itself isn't bad or good. It's neutral. But like the people of Babel, how we choose to use the technology is important - it reflects the kind of relationship we have with it. And the right kind of relationship with technology will help us to do the right kinds of things with it. Join us for BABEL!

In the second week of our fall gatherings at Relevant we saw more students than we have ever seen. Thanks so much to all of you who are plugging in with The Mix, Remix gcc, and Remix oneChurch. Our hope for you is more than that you would just come to the gathering but that it would lead you to plug into a small group. Why join a small group...because that is where you can belong and become who God made you to be. We are passionate about small group. Make sure and email us if you are not in a small group yet!

We made history last night at Relevant GCC...we had our first middle and high school service! It was so amazing to see so many students come out to all three locations. Yes, Remix onechurch was packed too! Relevant is making a difference across Clarksville. We want to clarify our start and stop times for all three services on Wednesday nights...here are the details...

This fall Relevant > Grace Community will be launching a middle school gathering called The Mix! We are so excited about creating space to connect with middle school students. We launch all our student gatherings on August 11 so we hope you will start inviting friends. This fall is going to be amazing. Here is the gathering info for teens in Clarksville and YES we have 2 locations since Relevant Student Ministry is a part of both Grace Community and OneChurch...

Wednesday July 21 we'll have our last Remix United of the summer. We'll be concluding our 3 part series called The Space Between, talking about the space that exists between "them" and God. "Them" are the people who don't yet know God, and we'll be talking about how you can partner with Remix to help close the space.

We have loved this summer and we want you to enjoy your last few weeks before the school year starts. Make sure you are at REMIX UNITED for some big announcements! It is gonna be GREAT!

It's been an incredible summer so far, and we hope you're enjoying it as much as we are! Our single focus this summer is helping you know God more personally, and we strive to help make that happen in everything we do.

This coming Monday (July 5th) we're having our 2nd Chill Night. A night for you and your friends... just to chill! It's for EVERYBODY, so bring whomever and whoever you'd like! Chill Night is at Emily Eayre's house at 7 PM. She has a pool, so you can swim if you want, and there will be a guest band performance led by Lawton Vierkant from 8-9. We're in full-on summer mode at Relevant! After a great 2 weeks at camp, we started a brand new series called The Space Between at Remix UNITED last night. The 3 part series focuses on 3 of the most basic ideas of Christianity, and we hope to see you on June 30th and July 21st as we continue talking about The Space Between.

There are tons of things going on the next couple weeks, so be sure to check the Facebook page to stay up to date! This coming Monday (June 21) we will be having our first Chill Night. Chill Night's are just opportunities for you to hang out with your friends... just to CHILL!

Middle School, you'll be playing laser tag from 6-7:30 at Xtreme Laser tag in the mall. It'll be $5 per game, so bring some cash!

High School, we have a barbecue planned for you at Scottie Hill's house from 7-whenever his parents kick us out!

Also, there will be a High School Special called Real Talk with the Reed's on Thursday June 24! If you want to hear an amazing couple talk about healthy relationships, then you want to be at Real Talk! More information for that to follow! Last thing and I'll shut up... last night we gave out a tool for you to start reading your Bible. If you want to grow in your relationship with God, you have to be reading His book. If you didn't get to pick up a [7 Things] book, be sure to ask about how you can get one. It's a 10 minute per day, 3 times a week guide for reading your Bible! The Bible really can change your life!

Middle School and High School Camp were an amazing start to summer. The Relevant team was blown away by how God worked both weeks. it was so great to be with so many of you for a SOLID WEEK and watch you connect with God and with each other. Here is the good news...SUMMER is just getting started and we have a ton of amazing stuff planned. We hope you will make sure be be with us for REMIX UNITED on June 16...we know you miss us and this is #1 of 3 amazing nights in the summer. See ya June 16 at the St. B Venue at 7 pm!

This is it...last week of school. Summer is officially here at the end of the week. Congrats to all of you who graduate from High School this week. Thanks for allowing us to be a small part of your life the past few years. We believe in you and know for sure God has some amazing plans for you. Go for it class of 2010!

Summer 2010 is going to be epic!

This Saturday, May 15, 2010 is Operation Serve Flood Relief. We will meet at the GCC church office, 1716 Memorial Drive, at 9 am to team up and head out for clean up jobs around Clarksville. If you are unable to be there at 9 am, come when you can and someone will assign you to a team. Operation Serve Flood Relief is an on-going effort as the city continues to work to provide us opportunities to serve our community.

We ask that you be 12 years of age or older, with a parent/guardian working along side those 12-14 years of age. In order to help us plan for the day, please pre-register online here. If you haven't already created a user name and password, you will be directed to do so. Registration is easy. Join Relevant Student Ministry as we serve our city. The time to step up is now!

This week we have faced the biggest flood our city has ever seen. Many of you have been asking how you can help. We want you to be able to set aside some time to help. If you want to go out and help flood victims just go to www.gcomchurch.com and sign up to serve...also look to see what opportunities are posted for the day. This is our time to step up and serve our city.

This coming REMIX is our final one of the Spring Semester before we move into Summer 2010. You do not want to miss this final week. We have so also have tons of amazing things we are working on for the summer. Check the website for up to day info.

Tonight we will have our first REMIX united as both locations of REMIX gather together to pray, sing, and reflect on how God wants us to respond to this flood. Yes, we are not in control but we know and serve the God who created the universe. We are going to ask that same God to meet us in the middle of this crisis. We will meet tonight 7-8, one hour, no small groups, at the St. B location, united behind one cause. We are asking teens to go home after the service since we are holding a college service later that night. PARENTS: if you are worried about your teen being out we understand, keep them home. Some of our teens are still stuck due to flooding, we are praying for you.

This week our city was shocked by a flood like we have not seen in 30 years. We are praying for our city as we face this challenge and please know that Grace Community and Onechurch will be ready to serve when the city gives us the green light and it is safe. We are going to try to gather for REMIX this week on Wednesday but please look for updates on times here on the website and on Facebook. Praying and trusting God...the Relevant Team

We start a new series this week called Voices to end the year. There are voices in your head and NO YOU ARE NOT CRAZY!! Whispers when you look in the mirror or at people around you. Words luring you to find something better than where you are. In fact, it is the pull of these voices that get us off track. Behind the voices is an Enemy, Satan. His mission is your destruction. His whispers and words can completely mess with how we see ourselves and our world--unless we start listening to a better voice, God's, and work with Him to silence the voice of the Enemy.

This week we launched our new series called RHYTHM. We were made to be in rhythm with God and most of our struggles in life come when get off beat with God. This series we are going to look at how we can get back in step...in rhythm with our creator. If you missed last night go check out the podcast on Itunes!

We know it is March but we are already stoked about Summer 2010. Our team has been praying and planning and we are ready to unveil some great plans on March 17. Make sure you are at REMIX to hear details about some of the things coming Summer 2010! ALSO Starting March 17 we start a new series at REMIX called Rhythm here is where we are headed...In the beginning, God had a rhythm for the world - a way the world functioned in perfect syncopation. There was a rhythm between us and God. Adam and Eve were in rhythm with each other. We also were in rhythm with ourselves. But the rhythm was thrown off, and now we're trying to get it back. This series walks students through the core XP3 principles of wonder, discovery and passion.

March is here and it has us thinking about Summer 2010. Yep, it is time to think, plan, prep, get stoked, run around in circles crazy about no school and all the time on your hands to do some great stuff you want to do. The team at RELEVANT is planning some amazing things. We want you to be on the lookout this week for the release of some major summer info.

On March 10 REMIX will be different this week for the St. B location. We can;t meet at our venue SO our lifegroups are meeting in homes across Clarksville. Look for info from your small group leaders about where you are meeting. Our Exit One location is meeting same time same place. We know it is going to be a great week!

At remix this week we started a new series called THE INVISIBLES. We are surrounded by the invisibles. These are people who simply want to know someone cares, someone notices? people who want to know God cares. Some of us would even say we feel that way? invisible to an entire world, daily passing us by. Whether that feeling is a familiar one or not, the reality is that each one of us has felt invisible at one point or another. But we didn't stay that way. God saw us. He sees the invisibles. And because God took notice of us, we are able to open our eyes to see those around us. Come next week and hear week 2 of the series, if you missed it catch it on the podcast up on Itunes.

Also we launch into an adventure called the LifeBook Project March 1-5. We are asking high school students to connect with other friends at school who do not follow Christ and give them a simple gift...a LifeBook...and then maybe God will open up doors for conversation about what it means to follow Christ. We are partnering with 10 other churches in our area to make this happen. High School student...if you want to learn more go to the LifeBook rally...

This coming Wednesday on Feb. 17 we are kicking off MERGE weekend with a REMIX UNITED where we basically have a remix night for our entire city. Yes, students from 10 churches are going to gather at Hilldale Family Life Center (250 Old Farmers Road 37043) at 6:30 to encounter God together, united, with one focus. All 10 of these churches will be moving through the Identity theme for the weekend and we want to start the weekend together. If you attend REMIX make sure you make it to our REMIX UNITED event at 6:30 at Hilldale Family Life Center.

YES, we are having REMIX tonight at both locations (St. B and Exit One) we can't wait to see you there at 7PM. Gather, connect with your small group, and worship an amazing God. It is going to be a great night! We do not want the SNOW to mess up a good thing. The parking lot's and roads around both our venue's are clear so we are moving ahead. Get out of the house and come on to REMIX. It will be worth it.

NEXT week we are pumped about a REMIX UNITED going down where we gather with students from across our city to kick off MERGE week. YES, merge is coming and many churches around our city will be having a merge type event on the same weekend.
